Alternative Names & Spellings

There are often several names and spellings for the same location; some places have newer names and this can lead to confusion and debate. Some maps, old and even new, show incorrect locations for places in Aden. So if you're searching the internet try some of these alternative spellings.

I am aware there is often confusion between the quite separate islands of Sirah Island (off Crater) and Slave Island (off Maalla), a fallacy perpetuated by an old postcard from the 50's with a picture of Sirah Island incorrectly titled 'Slave Island'.
