Perim Island

European Church of England Residents in 1907

All residents of Perim in 1907 whose religion was Church of England were listed as having been ‘memorialists’ at the time of the new extension to the cemetery on the island. This list is 23 in number, including the Assistant Resident. Only one woman is listed, Fanny Ayre, the wife of the manager of the Perim Coal Company. The C of E employees of the PCC therefore numbered at least 19, and possibly 21, compared to 17 in 1885. Only one surname appears in both lists; quite possibly the W A R Morris or the A R Morris in the 1907 list is the Mr Morris who was 2nd Engineer in 1885. The memorialists were:
